The Municipality of Murrysville has lifted their State of Emergency at 2:15 PM, February 6, 2010. The County State of Emergency is still in effect. People needing shelter can contact 724-733-5005. The Rec swim at FRSD Middle School is cancelled February 6, 2010.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Westmoreland County from 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 5 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6. Total snow accumulation could consist of 6 to 12 inches. Residents should keep apprised of weather conditions by watching the local TV news, listening to radio broadcasts, or listening for updates on an emergency weather radio. The Municipality of Murrysville will publish pertinent information, as necessary, on the Municipality’s website at www.murrysvillegov.org, Channel 19, and through the local news media. If you must travel, please do so with care.

Part-Time Receptionist Position

The Municipality of Murrysville is accepting applications for a part-time receptionist position (afternoon shift - 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday).

The qualified candidate will have:

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
* Possess a minimum typing speed of 50 wpm.
* Experience with a multi-line telephone system.
* Experience with tape transcription
        and meeting note-taking.
* Strong public interaction skills,
        including a pleasant demeanor.
* Ability to multi-task efficiently.
* Basic office procedures knowledge
        (filing, faxing, etc.).
* Dependability a must.

Candidates must also be available to attend evening meetings.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Corrugated Cardboard Recycling

To dispose of corrugated cardboard, Murrysville residents may dispose of boxes, which must be broken down, in the new cardboard recycling container. The container is located at the Veterans Field parking lot near the Public Works facility on Sardis Road. The Municipality thanks Allied Waste for providing this free service to Murrysville.
