Vision Statement for the Recreation Department

The vision of the Murrysville Parks and Recreation Department is to improve our residents’ health as well as create a sense of community by developing and supporting varied recreational and educational opportunities for the citizens of Murrysville.

Objectives

The Murrysville Recreation Department will meet the needs of the residents of Murrysville by:

• coordinating, encouraging and developing year-round recreational opportunities as defined in the 2000 Open Space Plan
• seeking and developing innovative partnerships with non-municipal recreation providers that enhance the quality of life for all Murrysville citizens
• developing an alliance with stakeholders
• encouraging and supporting volunteerism, especially for teen programming
• pursuing funding options to improve and maintain a high-quality recreation system
• working with the Parks and Recreation Commission in meeting community needs
