Duties

Zoning Hearing Board acts under the authority of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, with prescribed responsibilities, that include:

• Appeals from the determination of the zoning officer, including the granting or denial of any permit.
• Applications for variances and special exceptions
• Procedural challenges to a land use ordinance
• Other functions of the Board include substantive challenges to the Ordinance, flood plain appeals, and appeals from the zoning officers determination for a preliminary opinion.
