In accordance with the Charter, the Municipality of Murrysville contracts with an independent auditing firm to review and provide an opinion on the financial statements of the governmental activities, the business type activities, and the aggregate component units (the Murrysville Library and Franklin Township Municipal Sanitary Authority) on an annual basis. In addition to the independently audited financial statements, the "Municipal Annual Audit and Financial Report" is prepared and filed with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development.
