The Murrysville Parks and Recreation Foundation supports the programs and facilities of the Murrysville Parks and Recreation Departments.
To fulfill our mission, the Foundation solicits funds through grants, gifts and donations to enhance existing facilities and to develop new parks and recreation programs, services, facilities and technology.

Gifting and Donating Information
Would you like to honor a volunteer or memorialize a loved one? Consider a contribution to the parks that can be enjoyed by all, such as a bench or tree.
Memorial Benches and trees can be donated to the parks. Your contribution includes the item, engraving, installation and maintenance:
Wooden benches: $750.00
Composite benches: $1,500.00
Complete the donation application online and, once submitted, we will contact you after it has been processed.

The Foundation meets monthly and all meetings are open to the public. Meetings will be listed on the meetings calendar of the website.

Meet our Members
The Foundation consists of a seven-member Board of Directors, including one council member, the Mayor, the Director of Finance, the Director of Parks and Recreation, a member from the Municipal Parks and Recreation Committee, and two residents at large.
John Kaye is the Chief Operating Officer for the Endowment at the University of Pittsburgh. John and his wife, Kim Anderson, an accounting professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, moved to Murrysville in 1995. John and Kim have two daughters, Meg and Stella, who have grown up in Murrysville and have frequently taken advantage of the wonderful parks that Murrysville has to offer. Kim frequently took the girls to the various parks for play dates when they were young, and they all witnessed the growth and development of Murrysville Community Park during soccer-playing days. Today, the entire family enjoys the parks for walks, runs, frisbee, or simply to watch the sunrise or sunset.
Treasurer: Diane Heming
Originally from Greensburg, Pa, Diane has worked in Finance with the municipality for 25 years. She enjoys crafts, kayaking, and is often seen volunteering at the recreation department events throughout the year. Diane is delighted for the opportunity to see this Foundation grow for the betterment of the parks and recreation departments.
Secretary: Carly Greene
After serving ten years active duty in the Marine Corps, Carly returned home and earned her degree in Resort Recreation Management and Tourism from Slippery Rock University. She was then fortunate to begin her civilian career with the Murrysville Recreation Department in 2011. Camping, hiking and biking on the local Rails-to-Trails, and kayaking are just a few of Carly’s recreational pursuits. During work she enjoys fostering community relationships and providing a variety of recreational opportunities in the variety of parks that Murrysville has to offer. She is excited to work with such a great team to advance the importance of parks and recreation.
Parks and Recreation Commission Liaison: Dave Metzgar
Dave Metzgar has been a resident of Murrysville for almost 25 years along with his wife, Dana, a high school English teacher at Franklin Regional. They have 2 daughters and and have had many dogs over the years, and all of the family members have enjoyed the many parks of Murrysville. After many years of volunteering in the parks, he joined the Parks and Recreation Commission in 2017 and currently enjoys the Foundation board, as well.
Council Liaison: Carl Stepanovich
Mayor Regis Synan
Mayor Regis Synan currently serves as Mayor for Murrysville and resides here with his wife, Diane. He enjoys a variety of recreational pursuits including hunting, fishing, travel, and is frequently found visiting community events and walking in Murrysville’s many parks, reserves and trails. His proven experience with non-profit organizations will be an asset to this board, as well.
