The Municipality of Murrysville provides residents with the opportunity to sign up for the “Do Not Knock” list. As a resident, you can choose not to have vendors visit your home during their door-to-door sales. This list is valid for five years, at which time you will be required to re-apply if you wish to continue enrollment.
The “Do Not Knock” list is designed to prohibit for-profit salespeople from knocking at your door. Groups such as the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, local schools, sports organizations and individuals advocating charitable, religious, civic, and political causes are exempt from having to follow the “Do Not Knock” list.
Although we collect additional information, only your address and date of sign up will be visible on the list. Your name will not be included on any public list. This list will be updated on a regular basis and made available to approved vendors.
The Municipality of Murrysville requires solicitors within the Municipality to apply for a solicitation permit. Permit applications are online (using the link below) and must be brought in person to the Municipal Building with additional required documentation.
Visit the link below for specific information about applying for a solicitor's permit
When soliciting door to door, the vendor must have the valid permit with them, have an approved photo ID badge on the outside of their clothing, and must abide by the Municipality of Murrysville’s solicitation ordinance.
