Council 2020

The Municipality of Murrysville held their regular voting meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, virtually via ZOOM.  

Mayor Synan wanted to remind people that vote at Newlonsburg Church and Christ’s Lutheran Church to check to make sure you go to the correct polling location. Both of these polling stations have been split in half.  Contact the Election Bureau at 724-830-2150 if you have any questions.

The Farmer’s Market opening day is June 4th, Thursdays from 3-7 PM, June thru September, at 3235 Sardis Road down by Murrysville VFD. Face masks will be required.

Park facility use and Recreation Department programs and events during the Yellow Phase of COVID-19 mitigation were discussed.  In following the Governor’s office and CDC regulations, there will not be any organized sports activities. The fields are still closed.  The Recreation Department will be holding their Ready, Set, Run 5K and Tuesday’s at Townsend are tentatively going to be planned for June 23rd through August. 

Council Action Items:

  • Council approved Ordinance No. 1023-20, an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1012-19, the 2020 Tax Ordinance.
  • Council approved Resolution No. 719-20, amending the 2020 Operating Budget.
  • Council approved distributing the COLA (Cost-of-living adjustment) to the full-time retired police officers eligible for the increase.

The next Murrysville Council meeting will be Wednesday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building.
