What are the current rules and requirements of Deer Mangement Program?
  1. 7 parks currently are in the program: Duff, MCP, Townsend, Pleasant Valley, Verner, Kellman/Skena, Pin Oak “Bear Hollow”.
  2. Must hunt a minimum of 6 times a season.
  3. Must harvest at least one deer every 2 years.
  4. Must report all harvested deer to coordinator with copy of doe tag.
  5.  Anyone soliciting to hunt on private property without authorization from the Recreation Director will be immediately terminated from the program.
  6. New hunters will be called each August to be added to the program. The number of new hunters varies each year. 
  7. Hunters are required to attend a qualification meeting each year before the season begins to complete paperwork, pay the annual fee of $35.00, and qualify with archery equipment to ensure safety and accuracy of gear.
  8. Murrysville residents have preference.
